FALL in LOVE!

Carrie is BACK for another guest post! Take a look at some of Carrie's ideas for fall fun with your significant other :)

Fall is by far my favorite time of year! Now I can relax... I don't have to worry about sweating through my sundress or have my make up melt off before I reach the car and can blast the A/C. I can stay in with the bf and get cozy or go on adventures every weekend!

It's the perfect time to go on a few AMAZING dates. I was thinking of all the exciting things I could do this Fall with Todd...please observe and start thinking of dates you could plan with your lover.

1.) Trip to an Orchard

Even though I hate to cross the state line into Indiana I will make the sacrifice this year and go to Huber's...wine tastings, pumpkin beer, hay rides, fresh flowers, concerts, cheese shop and PUMPKINS!! So many PDA photo opps!

Check out the website for Huber's

2.) Tailgating at Keeneland

Ask anyone! I am in LOVE with making the trip to Lexington each Fall for Keeneland. I get to see old friends, dress up, day drink, eat yummy foods (think tailgating goodies) and cross my fingers I win big on the ponies.

Things to know before you enter the grounds, ladies:

Keeneland's 2011 fall meeting opens Friday, Oct. 7 and continues through Saturday, Oct. 29

Gates open at 11 a.m.

Don't forget your camera. Some of the best pictures I have of friends are from Keeneland.
Be a rebel and bring a flask full of rum. Do it.

General admission is $5 per person

Post time for the first race is 1:15 p.m.; races are run approximately every half hour

Parking is free in the tailgating lot. Preferred parking is $5. Valet parking is $10. Bus parking is $10.

Always carry a few extra bucks to tip the golf cart drivers, you will thank yourself after drinking mimosas and beer all day in heels. I swear it.

Lauren Farmer helped me pick out the dress I was wearing, thank you doll! I loved it.

3.) Observe, Sniff, Taste....your vino or your man. haha! Need I say more girls? Just don't wear white and be sure to have a meal before you start drinking. Relax and have a wonderful tasting!

I'm going to be selfish here and through in some pictures of my wine tasting experience with the broads in Napa:

Chandon

Robert Mondavi

Takin' a napa in Napa

It was all a blur at Rutherford Hill :)

4.) Weekend get away, va va voom!!

Leave all the stress be hide and pack your bag for a weekend trip to a bed and breakfast with your honey. Or maybe a luxury hotel in your own city you have never stayed at..you don't have to leave town to be adventurous.

Here's a picture of 21C, Louisville's very own 90-room boutique hotel/contemporary art museum that is located downtown. Even though they didn't hire me [not bitter], I still think its a classy place stay when you're here :)

5.) Barefoot in the Park

Super easy, super sweet date idea.

Items needs: Blanket, food [simple ideas here] drinks [be sure to bring cups], and your handsome man! You could even ride your bike there...

Check out this sweet picture of a real couple in NYC!

Thanks for blogging, Carebear! I love your ideas! I'd like to add, a date to a sporting event is very fall-ish [plus, that's what I'm doing with Gregg this weekend for his birthday] - stay tuned for more posts from Carrie!

What I'm Loving... Guest Bloggers!

Well, I feel like I've hit the big time. I'm having my first guest blogger today! My friend Carrie doesn't have a blog, but she does have impeccable taste! Take a look at what she's loving today:

This Wednesday I'm having a love affair with....

Pure Barre

This all started with a good friend of mine getting knocked up with twins. After her two nuggets popped out she found Pure Barre and BAM! she was back to her pre baby bod! The best thing about the work out for me is it tones my trouble areas [I would say most women's trouble areas] it burns fat in our bums, lifts and tones arms and makes our thighs thinner [hell yeah!] Its only one hour, you can go during your lunch. Think ballet, yoga and pilates mixed together. I just started a few weeks ago, I have not lost any weight yet but I do feel more toned in my legs and arms.

Tips: Wear black pants/capris, socks [make sure they match or others will judge you] and a tank top. Tell PB its your first class they are usually on the house...more deals also..for mamas, students and brides to be.

Wine Walks

Trot around your neighborhood this afternoon with wine in hand [inside a dixie cup of course] I am not in favor of anyone getting a PI so please drink responsibly :) After dinner, go explore your 'hood! It's almost Fall and walking around is always nice when its not scorching outside. I love taking a friend or my beau with me and just checking out the houses around where I live. Good way to get out of the house, have a night cap, burn off my desert and get to know my city a little better.

This picture is of my local wine market, I go here quite a bit. This is an engagement picture of a couple I know through a friend. I loved how they picked a local business for there background for the photo shoot. I am sure they walked around with some wine after.

Ducks Boots

Not just for hunters or extreme weather anymore, ladies! I often have pretty dreadful weather where I live and need to make sure I prepare each Fall/Winter for the worst. I knew I needed a good pair of snow boots...but my heart jumped when I saw images of LL Bean's Duck Boots paired with dresses, tights and leggings.

They will be perfect when I roam over to my bf's house in the snow, sledding in the park, feel like taking a stroll to get ice cream (yes, even in the dead of winter I crave a blizzards) with my lady posse or need to make an emergency trip to the grocery for popcorn and diet coke. They are a little pricey but will last forever!

Invest in some new nail colors, fancy ladies.

Try A List for a night out and about...

and Tea & Crumpets for the work week!
You will only spend a few bucks and have the rest of the season to show off your nail style.

Desserts: Good Girl or Bad Girl? Which will you be today?!

Todd made this for me about a week ago. It was fast, simple to make and cured my sweet tooth without being too bad for me. The recipe below is a little more glamours than what I had it was simply a grilled banana with a little chocolate on top. Not bad at all and HUGE bf points for him!

Hello, rebel lady! Welcome to my go to sweet when I need a reward or need to just feel better about the day.

Trust me, don't try to make this amazing dessert. Just find $3 and drive over to Home Made Pie and Ice Cream for a treat that will make any bad day better. The #1 (Best Seller) Dutch Apple with Caramel on top and don't skip out on a side of vanilla ice cream.

Thanks for sharing what you're loving, Carrie! I plan to eat that pie, walk around and drink wine and then burn it off at Pure Barre! Happy Hump Day, party people!

A Night with Carrie!

Carrie Nance is one of the best hosts ever. Everytime I visit Louisville, I discover something new about the city that I love. Also, Carrie goes above and beyond to make every weekend visit feel like a true vacation. Observe....

Cocktails with Carrie! I can't for the life of me remember what drink this is but it had lemoncello in it and it rocked.

                                                                   Carrie with a Bellini!

I don't look as cute chuggin' this cocktail..

Carrie took us to Mozz (a Mozzarella bar... which I think is pronounced Motz, but who knows). It was AMAZING!!!

Look who showed up?! Farmer and David joined us for dinner!!

Loved our little dinner date night

After our fruity, summer cocktails, we opted for this amazing Syrah - and it was half priced!!

Carrie is so creative! I could never do this, let alone even come up with the idea! It's an old frame with wire.. or something. Hell, I can't remember.

And this is super impressive. She took a piece of wood, painted it, and screwed in all of these ornate doorknobs to hang her gorgeous necklaces on. FREAKING AWESOME.

Carebear and her cute new man, Hotty Toddy!

Look at what I woke up to....

... fresh berries, granola, and cinnamon rolls!!!

Carrie, you are the absolute best. It is my goal to be as thoughtful and as cute as you. :)

Stay tuned, so much more went down in Louisville... can't wait to show you :)
